Who does it serve?

We loan medical equipment at no cost to residents who have short-term needs. There is no eligibility requirement; we only ask those in need to fill out a liability waiver and return the equipment in working order. We also accept donations of clean, durable equipment in good working condition.

Equipment is “first-come, first served”, though a phone call during our hours of operation is the same as coming in in person. We are happy to hold an item for 48 hrs., as long as we have the item in stock. We do not have waiting lists for items we do not have in stock.

What does it provide and what can be donated?

The following list identifies the main types of medical equipment ACCESS is able to provide our clients. We cannot have items that are principally fabric or foam, such as lift chairs, knee or back braces or orthopedic boots, as they are too difficult to sanitize. Airborne equipment such as CPAP’s and nebulizers are also not good candidates for a loan program such as ours.

Please sanitize all medical equipment prior to donating”

Over the Top Wig Program

Over the Top Wig Program provides free wigs and scarves to women with cancer or another medical diagnosis.

This volunteer-run program relies solely on donations of money and time from our dedicated donors and volunteers. Those interested in obtaining a wig and/or head scarf can call the number below to schedule a private appointment. From there, the private fitting appointment will happen in our wig room at ACCESS with a qualified volunteer. The volunteer will make sure the wig fits and that the recipient is pleased with the color, style, and fit. After the perfect wig is found, instructions about care are provided and the recipient always has access to a volunteer in case any questions arise.

To make a private appointment or learn more, please call 541-494-1219 or email WigProgram@accesshelps.org
