Medford, OR Jackson County has been awarded federal funds made available by through the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/Federal Emergency Management Agency under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program (EFSP)
Jackson County has been chosen to receive $118,056 to supplement emergency food and shelter assistance programs in the county.
The EFSP Local Board is now accepting applications from non-profit private or public agencies who work with people in need of emergency food assistance. These funds may be used for direct assistance only and may not be used for staff or infrastructure expenses. The grants can support purchase of food for food pantries, food purchases for hot meal feeding sites, purchase of diapers or feminine hygiene items. Purchases and distribution must be recorded and completed between December 15, 2015 and March 31, 2017.
