A “Realizing the American Dream” class is being held this Saturday, Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for people who are interested in buying their first home and getting information that can assist them with that. The class is being held in the HEC building, room 112 at Rogue Community College (RCC) in Medford.
Interest rates are still at an all-time low. Information will be provided on what it takes to qualify for an affordable loan program and what first-time homebuyer programs are available to assist potential buyers with down payment and closing costs.
This is a pre-purchase education class that will help people:
- Learn the basics of mortgage financing and qualifying for a home loan that suits their needs
- Find out about down payment and closing cost assistance programs for first-time homebuyers
- Learn about the DreamSavers/Individual Development Account (IDA) program, which can help people save more for down payment and closing costs
