ACCESS Conducts Business in Accordance With the Federal Fair Housing Law. (The Fair Housing Amendments Act of 1988)
More than $250,000 in Grant Funding Available for Housing Youth and People Experiencing Homelessness

The Jackson County Homeless Task Force and ACCESS jointly announce the kick-off of the annual Homeless Continuum of Care (CoC) local funding process. The pre-application is due to ACCESS, the Collaborative Applicant, no later than Friday, Aug. 4, 2017. Approximately $252,869 is available for distribution for the FY 2017-18 from the Jackson County CoC, which may be used to create and support the following types of projects:
  1. Permanent supportive housing projects that will serve chronically homeless individuals and families, including unaccompanied youth;
  2. Rapid rehousing projects for homeless individuals and families, including unaccompanied youth, to provide low barrier, temporary housing until households quickly move to permanent housing;
  3. Youth transitional housing;
  4. Joint transitional housing (TH) and permanent housing-rapid rehousing (PH-RRH) component projects, that will combine TH and PH-RRH into a single project to serve individuals and families experiencing homelessness;
Authorized by HUD interim rule 24 CFR part 578, the Continuum of Care (CoC) Program is designed to promote community wide commitment to the goal of ending homelessness; provide funding for efforts by nonprofit providers, and State and local governments to quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families while minimizing the trauma and dislocation caused to homeless individuals, families, and communities by homelessness; promote access to and effect utilization of mainstream programs by homeless individuals and families; and optimize self-sufficiency among individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
